How many have wanted to don gladiator armor and venture into an arena to fight wild beasts -- without the risk of actually dying, should they lose? How many have wanted to build great cities or become successful real estate moguls -- without any risk?

While these concerns are important, they are not dampening the spirits of online gamers. The number of gamers who make their way onto casual game sites as well as in-depth "virtual worlds" is growing exponentially. There's no sign of that letting up.

The game has yet to be given a release date, so fans will have to sit tight until more information is released, but from the look of these new videos (and the videos and trailers already released), the game looks like it'll be a best-seller and exactly what comic fans have been waiting for.

Better and more impressive than the visuals is the information given on the game. Unlike other MMORPGs, DC Universe Online will not feature random groups of enemies standing around on street corners, but rather a city that will have heroes and villains of all strengths interacting with one another, forming a more immersive feel for gamers.

Previously, trailers and videos for the game have revealed some cool elements: the character customization process, while not shown, is discussed, and the ability for players to chose exactly what sort of hero and what sort of powers they want has been well-received.

Sony Online Entertainment has previously brought Massive Multi-player Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs) such as Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies, and Matrix Online to gaming fans.
